“How does graphic design persuade people to willingly spend time on a dissapointing system”
For my graduation project at the Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam I made an interactive installation.
Players were tasked to lift a 10kg coin to scratch open a giant scratch card. After which they had to check on a website I created
to see what they win. However there was never a price, the entire experience was designed to waste the players time.
This project showed the audience that graphic design can be utilized to make useless products look appealing, or persuade people
to do things they normally would not have done
